About Me...

Hi! I am Heidi. I am wanting to pursue my passion of photography. I have always wanted to learn more and my dream is to become a professional candid photographer. So now I have decided to start learning and building upon the concepts I already know about photography. Lately I have been taking pictures of my friends and their families to practice, develop, and learn my style. I will be sharing photos with you on my blog. I am excited to see myself grow and progress. Every time I go out to a photo shoot there is this sense of energy that runs through my body from the excitement of taking pictures. I love it! It drives me.

My husband Mike has been such a great support in helping me to pursue my passion and dream of becoming a professional photographer. So now I am going to share my journey with you. I am excited for what lies ahead. My friend Rosa Lee has also been a huge believer in me ever since I told her about my love for photography. I told her how I was nervous to start doing it again and was afraid if it wasn't going to be my best and if others would like it. I loved what she told me. She said, "Every good performer or whatever it may be with, gets nervous and it is a good sign because it shows that they are constantly developing their skills and becoming better at what they do." I realized early on that I can't compare my work to others because I read from a photographer's blog that if you are to do that then your work won't every be unique or different because it isn't really yours but you are always comparing yourself to someone else and you won't be able to stretch yourself in order to get better at it. Be creative and think outside of the box. I love that advice and that is what has kept me going. Whenever I am struggling with a new concept or a lost for creativity at the moment then I think of that great and empowering advice.

Lately I have been reading the blog of Brooke Snow. She has given me a new found confidence in myself to keep on pursuing my love of photography and I can't wait to read the books she suggested to read about photography.
